At Our Children Read, LLC, we believe every child deserves to see themselves as the hero of a story.
For too long, many Black and Brown children have grown up reading books where they rarely saw characters who looked like them, shared their experiences, or inspired them to dream bigger. We set out to change that.
Our mission is simple:
To help Black and Brown children see themselves as heroes, build their self-love & confidence, while helping them fall in love with reading.
Through engaging stories, positive representation, relatable characters, and meaningful life lessons, we create books that inspire children to believe in themselves and their future.
Why We Exist
Reading is one of the most important skills a child can develop.
Yet millions of children struggle with literacy, confidence, and self-esteem.
When children see themselves reflected positively in books, something powerful happens.
They begin to believe:
