About The Author

Sean George, M.Ed., MBA (The Community Author) is an African American man who grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. Part of the first group of students to attend desegregated schools in Massachusetts, for his first few years he was the only African American young man in his school. Adding to being in a brand new environment, Sean also suffered from repeated teasing and discrimination due, in part, to his lifelong grapple with stuttering. For the entirety of his life, beginning at the age of three, Sean stuttered, spending most of his life extremely insecure. And so he prayed to God, repeatedly, to make him "normal". As an adult, when Sean was able to receive his answer, God said that he would not change Sean because Sean is specially made. God also informed Sean that part of his mission is to help both youth and young adults alike, especially those considered at-risk, to build-up their confidence and self-worth and to help them realize that they are specially made and can do and accomplish anything they desire in life.

Sean George is the President & CEO of Sean George Enterprises, LLC., the President & CEO of Our Children Read, LLC., and the Founder & CEO of Ties That Make A Difference, Inc. , a 501(c)3 nonprofit. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Mass Communications/Public Relations from Morehouse College, a Master’s of Education/Mathematics (M.Ed.) degree from Cambridge College, and a Master’s in Business Administration/Project Management (MBA) degree from Walden University. Along with these degrees, Sean also holds teaching certificates in Mathematics, English/ Language Arts, and Social Sciences.

Sean George lives with his wife Maritza and daughter Sanaa, a recent, Summa Cum Laude, graduate of Spelman College, in Georgia. He also has three more adult children: Shawn and Amanda, and a new daughter, Nicole, who is married to his son, Shawn.
